087# JONNGARA-Sho

This is the short version of "JONGARA"with percussions.

Since several years befor,I had been planning to compose a new work

for mandolin orchestra by using special playing styl of mandolin itself.

Just that time,I had met across to the performance of Japaniese traditional instrument "Shamisen".

That was "Tugaru-Jongara-Bushi".

It was so impressive for me,and it gave me the inspiration to compose a new work for mandolin.

The characteristic common to "mandolin" and "shamisen" is striking strings by plectrum like percussions.

I tryed to let fuse Jaz improvisation style and percussive playing style

of shamisenn into my new work for mandolin orchestra.

This is not "Jaz" nor "Shamisen-music",but special new music for mandolin orchestra. (Hiro Fujikake)

JONGARA:

It is said that this is the name of the place in Aomori Japan where the original song of Jongara was born.

The original name of the place was Joogawara. It had changed to JONGARA in long time.
